OK, I put my hands up, I haven’t been a very regular blogger!
In a bid to move with the times I have decided to see if a switch to facebook might help. It’s not that I am adverse to social media, it’s just that I would like to strike the right balance between being friendly and passing on information about what’s going on around here and not being irritating with too many posts (at the current rate this is unlikely!)
The proof will be in the pudding as they say…
Here is a link to Ardormie Farm Cottage’s very own facebook page… look forward to seeing you there
Sorry, no posts for a long time but I wanted to share some exciting news…
We have a wonderful new heating system! This autumn we have installed an environmentally friendly biomass boiler so that all the heating in the cottage now comes from renewable energy. Radiators have been put in (lovely tall slim wall panels in the kitchen and bathroom) and the cottage is cosy and warm throughout.
Heating is now included in the rental price.
(And my house is warm too!!)
Yesterday saw a steady stream of brave competitors who were out to run the Cateran Trail.
If you fancy having a go there is another opportunity on the 25th of June
Three nice men from the Energy Saving Trust came to visit and they are going to top up the loft insulation in the cottage for free. It will certainly help to keep things cosy especially when we wake up to snowy mornings like today…
After a hard winter with lots of snow the temperature has started to climb and the first signs of spring are evident with snowdrops and aconites flowering in the garden.
